This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston-filling system. I have tested it with water and works as it was designed to. I have taken apart the piston to clean the inside of the barrel and flush out any old ink.
This pen has an 18-karat gold Rhodium plated nib that pays homage to the classic novel, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The nib features an engraving of an Antique Diver's Helmet and is labeled with "4810, 18K/750, Montblanc, 2003". With a point measurement of .84mm using digital calipers, this Medium nib produces a moderate line variation of .62mm to .88mm when writing with normal to firm pressure. The writing sample displayed in the images was created using the actual pen and Parker Quink Blue ink. The smoothness of this nib makes writing a truly enjoyable experience.
Jules Verne's novels were a departure from the ordinary, venturing into uncharted territories of the imagination. He explored the ocean's depths, the vastness of space, and even the center of the earth, introducing new modes of transportation like rockets, satellites, and submarines.
