Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Restored 1927 Parker Senior Duofold Lucky Curve Fountain Pen in Lapis with Blue on Blue color. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned and put back together and is now in wonderful writing condition.

The Blue on Blue Lapis color is known as a first-year model Senior Duofold in this color that first started production in 1927. In 1928 the Senior Duofold has the White on Blue coloring, which is more commonly seen.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, LuckyCurve feed, and section. Replaced the old sac with a new rubber sac to help preserve the color. Hand polished the Gold Filled Parker Clip, Cap Banding, and 14K Duofold NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel, blind cap and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen. This Parker Duofold is the Senior Size and measures 5 1/2" capped and 6 1/2" posted.

The fountain pen cap, barrel, and blind cap are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The Cap has a Gold Filled Parker Clip with PAT SEPT 5 - 16 stamped and has been polished to shine bright - there is some wear on the high point of the ball of the clip and just above the PAT SEPT 5 -16 stamp at the top of the clip. The cap banding displays rich gold filled color with no brassing but there are a few dings to the backside of the cap (see image 8). The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER DUOFOLD FOUNTAIN PEN JANESVILLE, WIS LUCKY CURVE U.S.A. PAT 4-25-11". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. The color of this Parker is exceptional with the scarce Blue of Blue pattern with very even coloring.

This Senior Duofold has a button filling mechanism and I have tested with water and fills as it should. Works fantastic and as designed to.

The Parker Duofold NIB is a bit tough to find with a Long Tine and Extra Fine point. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has an extra-fine point measuring roughly .39mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with an extra-fine to double broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the extra-fine line measures at .37mm on the horizontal strokes and the double broad line measures at 1.40mm with medium pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is an Iconic vintage Parker Duofold Fountain Pen in the senior size. It is a scarce Senior Duofold due to the 1st Year Blue on Blue pattern which it makes for a rare collector grade fountain pen. Also, finding a Senior Duofold with an Extra Fine Long Tine Nib is very uncommon. I would consider this Parker grade in Very Fine condition due to the wear on the backside of the cap banding. Hard pressed to find another in this type of condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
