Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1935 Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Emerald Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Standard Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. The color is fantastic on this Vac.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Clip, Three Ring Cap Band, Bottom Jewel Tassel and 14K Parker NIB. Additionally, I cleaned, buffed, polished and waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to protect the celluloid bring back the vibrancy of this fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The color is a lovely emerald color that really displays marvelously. This cap displays the Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip and Three Ring Cap Banding, which display no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are striped and been polished to bring back a beautiful shine. The barrel imprint is stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA. with Date code 5 (for 1935) in the 2nd Quarter". The transparency of the barrel is water clear and a person can easily see through the barrel. The blind cap securely fits. There are no personalizations or monograms to either the cap or barrel.

This 1st Generation Parker Vacumatic has the correct Lock Down Filling Unit. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7-8 presses to fill 7/8 full. This Parker Vacumatic is a Standard size, which measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 1/4" posted.

The USA Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow NIB with only slight flex. The two-tone Nib is in perfect condition with no wear or loss of the platinum coating and writes extremely smooth. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .77mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with a fine/medium to broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at roughly .59mm and the medium stroke measuring 1.06mm when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen displaying a great Emerald Pearl color with an excellent smooth writing Nib. First Generation Parker Vacs at increasing difficult to acquire and this one has all the highline features; striped jewels, section, two-tone nib and water-clear transparent barrel with clean, bright gold filled trim. I would easily grade this Parker in Excellent Condition after my restoration. This Vac is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
