Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1935 Parker Emerald Green Mottled Celluloid Double Jewel Vacumatic Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. I have hand-polished the Gold-Filled Feather Clip, Gold-Filled Two Ring Cap Banding, and 14K NIB. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the cap, barrel, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of this fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no cracks or repairs. The cap has the Feather Gold Filled Clip and the double cap bands that display a wonderful gold-filled color with no brassing. The bottom tassie shows very minor wear on the edging - it is very minor but want to point it out. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to a high shine. The barrel is stamped clearly with, "GEO S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA with Dated code 5 (for 1935) in the 4th Quarter (NOTE THE DATE CODE STAMP - normally you see it inline with the imprint but this is turned, it is a known "error" for this year"). The barrel transparency is good, I would consider it to be near water clear with mild ambering. The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalization to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is the larger, more girthy Junior Model that has a wider diameter cap and barrel than the standard juniors. It measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 5 13/16" posted.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 11-15 pumps to fill full. This Vacumatic has the lockdown filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacumatics. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works as originally intended.

The 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .64mm when measured with digital calipers. This NIB writes super smoothly with a wet line. When writing the sample in the listing images, the NIB writes with a medium to a broad line. The writing sample provided in the image has a medium stroke measuring .61mm and can flex to a broad stroke of roughly 1.01mm with medium pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink.

This is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Emerald Green Mottled Celluloid and would grade it in Excellent Condition. This is a collector-worthy fountain pen and the condition really shows what a gorgeous Parker Vac this is. It is ready to write or just add to your writing stable of vintage fountain pens.
