Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored Gorgeous 1936 Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Golden Web celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. The Parker Golden Web was manufactured in the USA from 1936 to 1937 which makes this model hard to acquire, especially in this condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Clip, Gold Filled Two Ring Cap Banding and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel has excellent transparency with a person easily seeing through the barrel having only very minor ambering. The cap has the Feather Gold Filled Clip and the double cap bands displaying a wonderful gold filled color. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to shine great again. The barrel is stamped with a clean imprint that reads, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A. with 6 date code (for 1936) in the 3rd quarter". The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Junior Model that has a wider diameter cap and barrel than the standard juniors. It measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 5 13/16" posted.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 8 to 12 presses and it will fill full. This Vacumatic has the lockdown filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacumatics. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works flawlessly.

This Parker Vac has the 14K Parker Vacumatic NIB that has a medium point measuring roughly .63mm when measured with digital calipers. The Nib has the same date code as the barrel, 1936 in the 3rd quarter which makes this nib a marriage to the rest of the pen. The NIB is the split arrow 14K Vacumatic that is in excellent condition and creates an extremely smooth writing experience. The writing sample provided in the image has a fine stroke that measures .53mm and will flex to a double broad stroke of roughly 1.31mm with medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images of this listing. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Golden Pearl Celluloid that I would grade it in Excellent+ Condition. The color is gorgeous on this Parker Golden Web but more importantly with excellent transparency and a marriage of the Nib to the rest of the pen. This Parker Vac in the scarce Golden Web celluloid is collector worthy and it is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
