Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Gorgeous restored 1936 Parker Vacumatic Junior Fountain Pen in the Mottled Burgundy Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Clip, Gold Filled Two Ring Cap Banding, and 14K NIB. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the cap, barrel, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel has very good transparency, albeit with mild ambering. The cap has the Gold Filled Feather Clip with double gold-filled cap rings polished to a high shine. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to shine great again. The barrel is stamped with a clean imprint, "GEO S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA with 1936 date code in the 1st quarter". The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Junior Model that has a wider diameter cap and barrel than the standard juniors. It measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 5 13/16" posted.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 13 to 17 presses and it will fill full. This Vacumatic has the lockdown filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacumatics. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works flawlessly.

The NIB is the split arrow 14K Vacumatic type that writes with an extremely smooth writing experience. 14K Parker Vacumatic NIB has a medium point (iridium) measuring roughly .62mm when measured with digital calipers. The nib will write with a medium to broad line variation. The medium stroke measures .72mm on the and will flex to a broad stroke of roughly 1.02mm with medium to firm pressure when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-black Ink.

This vintage Parker Vac Fountain Pen displays a mesmerizing burgundy and black pearl color with bright gold-filled trim. I would grade this Parker Vac in Excellent Condition and is deserving of a great collection. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
