Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1937 Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Arrow Clip, Chevron (///\\\) Cap Banding, and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a Major size which measures 5 1/4" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted. The color is gorgeous on this pen - the burgundy pearl just pops

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Arrow Gold Filled Clip and Chevron Cap Banding. The clip displays just a hint of wear at the very top near the jewel. The chevron cap banding displays no wear. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the cap and barrel and both have been polished for a wonderful shine. The barrel is stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 7 (for 1937) in the 4th quarter". The transparency of the barrel is very good, albeit with mild to medium ambering. The blind cap securely fits.

This Vacumatic has the Speedline Filling System works perfectly, typically in my tests with water about 10-13 presses to fill full. The Speedline Filling Unit has been greased and operates smoothly. The Speedline Filler is the correct filling unit for this 2nd Generation fountain pen.

This Parker NIB is a 14K Two-Tone split arrow NIB with a matching date code to the rest of the pen, 1937 in the 4th Quarter, which makes this a marriage. The two-tone nib with the Platinum plating is roughly 85% intact. The iridium is great and creates a wonderful, smooth writing experience. The 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .82mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a fine to medium stroke line. With the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .59mm and the medium stroke measured at .89mm with medium pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was completed with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample provided was completed by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen displaying a Gorgeous Burgundy Pearl color with an excellent smooth writing Nib. These Parker Vacumatics are increasingly difficult to acquire and this one has all the high-line features; striped jewels, striped section, two-tone nib with clean, bright gold filled trim. I would grade this Parker in Excellent Condition after my restoration. This Vac is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
