Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Gorgeous 1937 Parker Mottled Green Celluloid Double Jewel Vacumatic Larger Jr. Size Fountain Pen in restored condition. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Clip, Gold Filled Two Ring Cap Banding, Blind Cap Tassel and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the matierial of fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel retains its transparency with a person easily seeing through the barrel, albeit with mild ambering. The cap has the Feather Gold Filled Clip and the double ring cap bands, which display a rich gold filled color with no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to look great again. The barrel imprint is stamped clearly and crispy with, "GEO S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA with 1937 date code in the 4th quarter". The jeweled blind cap securely fits and the tassel shines, also with no brassing. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Junior Model that has a wider diameter cap and barrel than the standard juniors. It measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 5 13/16" posted.

The Lock Down Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 presses and it will fill 7/8 full. This Vacumatic has the lock down filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacumatics. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works flawlessly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K Split Arrow NIB with match date code to the barrel, 1937 in the 4th Quarter. The iridium is excellent on the tip of the NIB and creates a excellent writing experience. The actual writing portion / tip of this 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .66mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating the writing sample in this listing, the Parker NIB writes with an extra fine to medium stroke. The writing sample provided in the listing image has the extra fine line measuring at .34mm with light pressure and the medium line measured .60mm when measured with digital calipers with normal to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a Lovely Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Mottled Green Celluloid and would grade at Excellent Condition. Mottled Green was produced for the shortest period, having been introduced in 1935, about a year after Gray and Red entered the scene. This Parker is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
