Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1937 Parker Silver Mottled Celluloid Double Jewel Vacumatic Jr Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Nickel Plated Feather Clip, Nickle Plated Two Ring Cap Banding, and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and clarity and to protect the celluloid of fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel has amazing transparency where an individual can easily see through the barrel, albeit with mild ambering. The cap has the Feather Clip and the Double Cap Bands that display great nickel/silver color with no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to shine great again. The barrel is stamped crisp and clearly with, "GEO S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA PATD with a Date Code of 7, for 1937, in the 3rd Quarter". The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Junior Model that has a wider diameter cap and barrel than the standard juniors. It measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 5 13/16" posted. I would like to reiterate the trim on this Parker is remarkably clean.

This Vacumatic has the correct lock down filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacumatics. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 8 presses and it will fill full. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works flawlessly.

This Parker has a 14K Parker U.S.A Split Arrow NIB. This NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .70mm when measured with digital calipers and will write with a wet line. The NIB is the split arrow 14K Vacumatic that is in excellent cosmetic and is a smooth writer. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a fine line to broad stroke. The writing sample provided in the image has the fine stroke that measures .53mm and can flex to a broad stroke of roughly 1.02mm with medium pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

If you collect the Silver/Gray Pearl Vacumatic then you know how hard it is to find one with clean trim. This is a gorgeous Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Silver Pearl Mottled Celluloid and would grade it in Excellent - I would grade it near mint if the barrel had just a little less ambering. This is a collector-worthy Parker Vacumatic with remarkably clear white trim which is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection
