Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Gorgeous Restored 1937 Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Emerald Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

The NIB, Feed, Section and Breather Tube have been ultrasonically cleaned. I replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Split Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap (///\\\) Banding, 14K Parker NIB, and bottom tassel. I have Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Senior Maxima that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The Emerald Pearl color is simply beautiful with vibrant emerald color. The cap has the Feather Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip with the Chevron Cap Banding that displays a hint of brassing at the edge of the feathers area. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the cap, barrel and blind cap of the fountain pen and have been polished to a high shine. The barrel is clearly & crispy stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 7 (for 1937) in the 3rd Quarter". The blind cap securely fits. The cap and barrel are free of any personalizations or monograms.

This Parker Maxima Vacumatic retains the correct "Speedline" filling unit that was produced for 2nd Generation Vacumatic and works flawlessly. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 8-11 presses to fill 7/8 full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly.

This Parker NIB is 14K Gold with a medium/broad point that measures .72mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to medium stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the stroke/line ranges from .50mm to .90mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This vintage Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima Fountain Pen is sleek, refined, and BIG. This Emerald Pearl Celluloid really makes a statement and doesn't get much better than this. I would consider this Maxima Set to be in Excellent+ Condition and certainly Collector Grade! It is ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
