1938 PARKER VACUMATIC EMERALD PEARL DOUBLE JEWEL VACUMATIC FOUNTAIN PEN & PENCIL SET WITH ORIGINAL BOX IN RESTORED CONDITION

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1938 1st Generation Parker Double Jewel Emerald Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen & Pencil Set in the Original Box. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Feather Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, 3-Ring Cap Banding, 14K 2-Tone Parker U.S.A. NIB and bottom tassel. The gold filled trim displays "No Brassing". Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen & pencil and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Jr Size which measures 4 5/8" capped and 5 7/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap, barrel and pencil are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Feather Split Arrow gold filled clip with the 3-Ring Cap Banding with no brassing. The top & bottom jewels are striped to match the cap and barrel and polished to a glorious shine. The section is also striped to match the pen's cap, barrel and jewels. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code for 1938 in the 3rd quarter". There is a personalization on both the pencil and fountain pen that reads, "DORIS R. HILL". The transparency of the barrel is fantastic and a person can easily see through the barrel, near water clear transparency. The blind cap securely fits.

I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Lockdown Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 6 to 8 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit, so it operates smoothly. The lockdown filling unit is the proper filling unit for 1st generation Parker Vacuamtics, which this one is.

The Parker NIB is a 14K Gold 2-Tone Split Arrow NIB, which has a very nice writing experience. The platinum coating on the NIB is nearly all intact and just looks amazing. The 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .55mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine line to a double broad stroke line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .46mm and the double broad line measures at 1.20mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

The box is in magnificent condition and retains the original sticker inside the box cover of where jewelery store that it was purchased, "GLENN L. BOX JEWELER MONROVIA, CAL".

The pencil is in excellent to near mint condition. No brassing on the trim and operates as it should.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen & Pencil Set in the Emerald Pearl Celluloid that has all the "high-line" features; 3-Ring Cap Banding, 2-Tone NIB, Striped Section, Striped top and bottom Jewels with excellent transparency and in the original box. I would consider this Parker Set to fall in Excellent to Near Mint Condition - certainly collector grade. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
