Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Fabulous Restored 1939 Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. Collector Alert: Water Clear Barrel with Vibrant Burgundy Pearl coloring - it will be hard to find one better.

The Feed, Section and Breather Tube have been ultrasonically cleaned. I replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Split Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap (///\\\) Banding, 14K Parker NIB, and bottom tassel. I have Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Senior Maxima that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The Burgundy Pearl color is simply beautiful with vibrant Burgundy Pearl color. The cap has the Blue Diamond Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip with the Chevron Cap Banding displaying no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the cap, barrel and blind cap of the fountain pen and have been polished to a high shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC with the MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 9 (for 1939) in the 3rd Quarter". The barrel transparency is water clear - this barrel has never seen ink. The blind cap securely fits. The cap and barrel are free of any personalizations or monograms.

This Parker Maxima Vacumatic retains the correct "Speedline" filling unit that was produced for 2nd Generation Vacumatic and works flawlessly. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 12-15 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly.

This Parker Vacumatic comes with a 14K Gold Nib with a medium point that measures .60mm when measured with digital calipers. The Nib is a date match, 1939 date code - which is a marriage to the rest of the pen. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium to broad line. In the writing sample provided, the stroke/line ranges from .60mm to .92mm when measuring with digital calipers. The nib on the Maxima writes smoothly, a very pleasurable writing experience. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This Parker Burgundy Pearl Senior Maxima Fountain Pen doesn't get much better than this one - it has all the high-line features with the celluloid being vibrant, striped jewels, striped section, and the barrel havinge water clear transparency. I would consider this Maxima to be grade in Excellent+ to Near Mint Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
