Andrew Carnegie is one of the finest examples of the great American success story. The son of a poor Scottish immigrant, he became a millionaire steel magnate through a combination of luck, skill, and hard work. Despite his fabulous wealth, his whole life was influenced by the privations of a childhood spent in poverty. Andrew Carnegie was firmly convinced that wealthy people were morally obliged to dedicate themselves to charitable works. So, he spent 350 million dollars – almost his whole fortune – on cultural foundations, public libraries, and cultural programs.
This Montblanc Patron of the Art, Andrew Carnegie Fountain pen is in spectacular condition, having never been used with ink. This fountain pen is iconic and would make a fantastic addition to any writing collection. I would classify this Montblanc Carnegie Fountain Pen as being in pristine, mint, never-inked, and new old stock condition.
