NOTE: In Chinese culture, the dragon is a symbol of the imperial family. The year 2000 was the "Year of the Golden Dragon", as it was ruled by the element "Metal", which is also associated with gold. This combination only occurs once every 60 years, making it a powerful and significant event.

The fountain pen features a hand-painted dragon on the cap and is made of the finest Meissen porcelain in traditional Chinese colors. This exquisite fountain pen features a renowned white Meissen porcelain cap and barrel, embellished with the hand-painted Golden Dragon, and the iconic Meissen porcelain blue swords hallmark. The pen is elegantly plated with gold plated trim, complemented by an 18K gold nib. Both the cap and barrel are flawlessly preserved, free from any cracks, chips, or porcelain damage. The cap securely fastens onto the barrel, ensuring optimal functionality. When capped, the fountain pen measures 5 3/8" in length, and when posted, it extends to 6 3/8". The weight of the pen is a "hefty" 2.34 ounces - great weight in the hand.
This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system, I have tested it with water, and works as it was designed to. It is in perfect working order and does so very smoothly. This pen has never seen ink and is considered in Mint, New Old Stock condition.
This fountain pen comes with a Medium nib in 18K gold, engraved with Chinese symbols. The nib is stamped with, "2000, 4810, 18K MONTBLANC". The nib point (iridium) measures .92mm when measured with digital calipers. To preserve its pristine condition, I refrained from using ink in the pen, ensuring that the next owner would receive an exceptional writing experience. The has never been inked.
This Montblanc comes in the original Montblanc wooden lacquered box, outer storage factory box, and Limited Edition/Service Booklet. The wooden lacquered box does display 3 very small areas where the lacquer has chipped away which can be viewed in the last three images.
