The barrel and cap are enameled/lacquered over brass and display a gorgeous Amber shimmer color with no wear, nicks, cracks, dings, dents, or scratching. The cap and barrel of this fountain pen display 23K gold-plated trim and cap banding that is stamped, "WATERMAN FRANCE". The cap and barrel are excellent with the cap always securing tightly when capped and posted. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Waterman Carene was manufactured in Paris, France in the early to mid-1990s. This Waterman Carene measures 5 3/4" inches in length capped and 5 7/8" inches posted.
This Waterman Carene can use an Ink Converter or Cartridges. Currently, this fountain pen only has a working ink converter.
The NIB on this Waterman is 18K/750 Solid Gold with a Medium point. The tipping measures .62mm when measured using a digital caliper. I have only dip-tested this Waterman Carene to perform a writing sample, which will write with a very smooth line of roughly .66mm to .84mm when measured with digital calipers. The nib is very smooth - a great fountain pen to write with.
The Waterman Carene comes with a Waterman Factory Box, which is in perfect condition.
This Waterman Carene Fountain Pen has a great feel in the hand and is very well-balanced. New these sold for $275 when new - I am listing this one at $210. This Carene is a very sleek pen that writes excellently with a smooth, medium nib. It is ready to add to your writing arsenal collection. Again, it is in Mint Condition in the original box.
