Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Circa 1995 to 2001 Montblanc Meisterstuck Solitaire 146 Sterling Vermeil Pinstripe Fountain Pen. The fountain pen appears to have never been used very little and is considered in Mint Condition. I have taken apart the pen, thoroughly cleaned it, put it back together, and is not in superb writing condition with the OBB 18K nib.

The cap, barrel, and trim have the Sterling Silver Gold Vermeil Overlay and display most beautifully. The cap and barrel have a "pinstripe" design. The Serial number is MM10037 and is stamped on the side of the clip. The cap banding is stamped with, "MONTBLANC MEISTERSTUCK". The cap is marked, "925 & StØD".

The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no dings, denting, nicks, scratches, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The trim is perfect with no scratches or wear. This fountain pen measures 5 5/8" inches in length capped and 6 3/8" inches posted.

This Montblanc has a two-tone 18K/750 OBB (1.22mm) NIB. The 18K Montblanc NIB likes to write with a very smooth, wet line and has a broad/double broad point measuring roughly 1.22mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with a medium to triple broad stroke/line. The writing sample provided in the image has the medium stroke measuring at .84mm and the triple broad stroke at 1.92mm with medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink. NOTE: This nib writes spectacularly in my opinion, it has a soft, smooth, wet line that really outperforms any other nib that I have used in years.

The filling system was removed, internal components cleaned, and the piston seal was greased. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Piston Filling System works as it was intended to.

This pen here is considered the 4th generation of the 146 models made in the mid-1990s to early 2000. This Montblanc LeGrand Solitaire is one of the most reliable and refined pens until that period, with silicone cork and striped ink window. The pen has a great weight in the hand weighing nearly 50 grams. The pen feels solid in the hand, posted or not posted.

This fabulous Montblanc Fountain Pen is in Near Mint to Mint Condition. A classy and sophisticated writing instrument that would be a great addition to your writing arsenal rotation that will be a pleasure to write with. This is one of the best pens I have ever had the pleasure of writing with.
