NOTE: Elizabeth I built up 16th century England into a world power and created the foundation for a historic age of culture. Montblanc honors surely the most famous female monarch of Great Britain with an edition consisting of the very finest quality. The brilliant lacquer of this writing instrument is modeled after the royal garments of Elizabeth I. With the Tudor rose and the cross of the British Crown, the royal insignia put their stamp on the cap, which is crowned with a green cabochon on the clip. In addition, the words “Video et taceo” engraved on the cap ring recall the supreme principle of Elizabeth I’s government. At the same time, there are also traces of Elizabeth I’s childhood days to be found: the fine engravings on the gold-plated fittings recall the artistic embroidery of the book “The Glass of the Sinful Soul” – the book that Elizabeth I designed herself at the age of eleven. This extraordinary edition is completed with the ivory-colored Montblanc emblem on the cap head and the royal crown engraved on the 18 K gold nib.

The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, dings, dents, enameling loss, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. This Montblanc is a limited edition number, "2657 of 4810" and is imprinted on the back side of the cap. The fountain pen measures 5 3/4" capped and 6 3/4" posted. This pen weighs in at 2.85 ounces, which one can feel the weight of the pen and know it is well made!

This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system, I have tested it with water, and works as it was designed to. It is in perfect working order and does so very smoothly. This pen has never seen ink and is considered in Mint, New Old Stock condition.

This fountain pen features an 18K medium nib which matches the Medium nib sticker on the barrel. The specially designed 18K gold nib is engraved with the Royal Crown along with the dates she was in power - 1558 to 1603. The nib is stamped with, "4810, 18K/750, 2010, MONTBLANC" and is considered a MEDIUM point, measuring .86mm with digital calipers. The fountain pen has never been used with ink in order to preserve its pristine condition for the next owner or collector.

This Montblanc comes in the original Montblanc wooden black lacquered box, outer storage factory boxes, Limited Edition International Service Certificate Booklet, the original Medium nib sticker that is adhered to the blind cap, and the plastic sleeve the pen came in.

This Montblanc Patron of the Art Elizabeth I Fountain Pen is a fabulous example and refined writing tool, skillfully created and designed in Germany. It is in impeccable condition, having never been used with ink, and would make a fantastic addition to any writing collection. I would classify this Montblanc Elizabeth I Fountain Pen as being in never-inked, mint, new old stock condition.
