Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this fabulous Restored 1941 Parker Vacumatic Golden Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen with Jeweler's Coin Stack Cap Banding. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Blue Diamond Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip trim, Coin Stacked Jeweler's Cap Banding, 14K 2-Tone NIB and Gold Filled Blind Cap Tassel. I have also cleaned, buffed, polished and waxed the barrel, cap and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The cap has the Blue Diamond Split Arrow Clip and the Coin Stacked Jeweler's Cap Banding. The gold filled trim has all been polished and does not display any brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished for a deep shine. The barrel imprint is clear and crisp that reads, "Geo. S. Parker Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with 1941 date code in the 1st Quarter". The transparency of the barrel is fantastic; albeit there is minor ambering. The cap fits securely to the barrel and the jeweled blind cap also securely fits. There are no personalizations or monograms on the barrel or cap. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen measures 4 3/4" in length capped and 5 3/8" posted.

The so-called Jeweler's cap-band Vacs are relatively uncommon variants produced from 1939-1941. Factory original, the key finding is an extra-wide lined cap band, which this has. The cap band has a cartouche that has not been engraved or personalized.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 5-6 presses and it will fill to nearly full. This Parker has the correct Speedline filling unit for a 2nd Generation Vacumatic model. I have greased the filling mechanism and now works smoothly and flawlessly.

The 14K Parker 2-Tone NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .69mm when measured with digital calipers. The NIB has the Golden two-tone arrow NIB with the platinum plating completely intact. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a fine line to a medium/broad stroke line. The writing sample provided, the thinnest stroke / line measures at a fine .53mm stroke and the largest medium/broad stroke line measures .93mm when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

Overall, this is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Golden Pearl Celluloid that is a difficult to find variant with the wide Stacked Coin Jeweler's Cap Banding in Excellent Condition. This Parker is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
