Description

We would like to present for your consideration a restored 1941 Parker Senior Maxima Vacumatic Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the stunning Silver Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has undergone a thorough restoration process, including disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly, and is now in exceptional writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Nickel plated Split Arrow Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Banding, 14K Parker NIB, and Blind Cap Tassie. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Senior Maxima size that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Split Arrow Blue Diamond Clip with the Chevron Cap Banding displaying absolutely no wear. The barrel has very good transparency with a person easily being able to see through it, albeit with minor ambering. The top jewel is striped and the bottom jewel is a bullseye-type black and has been polished to a gorgeous high shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A. with a Date Code 1 (for 1941) in the 3rd Quarter". The blind cap securely fits with the nickel-plated tassie displaying minor wear on the edging.

I have restored the Vacumatic filling mechanism and tested it with water and fills as it should. The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 12 to 15 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and flawlessly. The Speedline filling system is the correct filling unit for 2nd generation Parker Vacumatics, which this Vac is.

This Parker Vacumatic has the proper 10 Feather 14K nib which writes extremely smooth. The actual 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .47mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a Fine to Medium stroke. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .48mm (with light pressure), and the medium stroke measures at .63mm with firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was completed by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink. The nib does not have flex just the line variation occurs when exerting more pressure compared to just having the nib glide across the paper

Finding Silver Pearl Vacs that are clean with bright white trim is tough to find. This pen has great features that really make it stand out and place the pen in Very Fine+ to Excellent Condition. This Parker Senior Maxima is ready to write with or just add it to your fine writing arsenal collection.
