Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1941 Parker Silver Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Nickel Plate Split Arrow Clip, 2-Ring Cap Banding, bottom jewel tassel and 14K Parker NIB. Additionally, I cleaned, buffed, polished and waxed the barrel, cap and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. This cap displays the Split Arrow Nickel Plate Clip and 2-Ring Cap Banding, which display no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and been polished to bring back a beautiful shine. The bottom jewel tassel does display brassing on all the high points. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker - Parker Vacumatic - Made in U.S.A. with date code for 1941 in the 2nd quarter". The transparency of the barrel is very good and a person can easily see through the barrel, albeit with ambering. The blind cap securely fits. The Vacumatic Speedline Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 presses to fill 7/8 full. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size, which measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold 2-Tone Split Arrow NIB. The 2-Tone NIB does display much of the Platinum coating loss - I would calculate nearly 95% plating loss, which does not compromise how the NIB performs / writes - purely cosmetic and want to point it out for clarity sake. The iridium is great and creates a very good writing experience for an extra fine NIB. The actual writing portion / tip of this 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .46mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating the writing sample in this listing, the Parker NIB writes with an extra fine to medium stroke. The writing sample provided in the listing image has the extra fine line measureing at .38mm with light pressure and the medium line measured .69mm when measured with digital calipers with normal to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a fantastic vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Azure Pearl Celluloid that is in Very Fine to Excellent Condition. If the blind cap tassel didn't display the brassing it does, I would grade in excellent condition. A great double jewel restored Parker Vacumatic that is ready to write with or add to your writing arsenal collection.
