Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this uncommon Restored 1946 Parker Silver Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size with the Coin Stack cap banding. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition.

I have cleaned the feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. I hand-polished the nickel-plated Blue Diamond clip (this clip is MINT), nickel-plated coin stack cap banding (///\\\), and 14K NIB. Additionally, I cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the split arrow nickel-plated Blue diamond clip and is in perfect condition with no wear. The coin-stacked cap banding displays some very minor wear along the bottom edging. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker PARKER VACUMATIC Made in U.S.A. with date code 5, for 1945, in the 2nd quarter". The transparency of the barrel is water-clear with some mild ambering. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great! Typically in my tests with water about 7-8 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and now operates flawlessly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow NIB with the actual writing portion(iridium) of the nib having a fine point measuring roughly .53mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to broad stroke. The fine line/stroke measures at .47mm with light pressure and the broad line/stroke measures 1.06mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen that displays a great Silver Pearl color with very good barrel clarity and bright bright nickel-plated trim.The uncommon feature that makes this fountain pen more desirable is the coin-stacked cap banding. I grade this Parker Vac in Very Fine to Excellent Condition. It is ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
