Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1945 Parker Emerald Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, and breather tube. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand-polished the Gold Filled Diamond Clip, Gold Filled Chevron Cap Banding (///\\\), and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and protect the material of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always secured tightly to the barrel. The cap has the split arrow gold-filled blue diamond clip and is in perfect condition with no wear. The chevron cap banding is in excellent condition with no wear. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A PAT. with date code 5, for 1945, in the 1st quarter". The transparency of the barrel is very good with only mild ambering. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

The Vacumatic Filling System has been restored and now works great, typically in my tests with water about 9-12 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and now operates flawlessly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow NIB. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .75mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to medium line/stroke. The fine stroke measures at .47mm with light pressure and the medium line/stroke measures .87mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Montblanc Blue Ink.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen that displays a gorgeous, vibrant Emerald Pearl color with lovely bright gold-filled trim. I grade this Parker Vac in Excellent+ to Near Mint Condition and is certainly collector worthy. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
