Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this lovely Restored 1945 Parker Emerald Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, and breather tube. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. I have hand-polished the gold-filled Blue Diamond clip, gold-filled Chevron cap banding (///\\\), and 14K Parker Vac nib. I also cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the split arrow gold-filled blue diamond clip and is in perfect condition with no wear. The chevron cap banding is in excellent condition with no wear. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 5, for 1945, in the 2nd quarter". The transparency of the barrel has heavy ambering. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

The Vacumatic Filling System has been restored with a new diaphragm and now works great, typically in my tests with water about 9-12 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and flawlessly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow NIB. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .69mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to broad line/stroke. The fine stroke measures at .58mm with light pressure and the broad line/stroke measures 1.00mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Blue Ink.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen that displays a gorgeous, vibrant Emerald Pearl color with lovely bright gold-filled trim. I grade this Parker Vac in Excellent Condition and is certainly collector-worthy. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
