Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1951 Parker 51 Fountain Pen in the Teal Blue Color. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition.

This fountain pen barrel, cap, and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The Gold Filled Cap has the Split Arrow Clip that is in perfect condition - no dings or dents. The cap secures to the barrel snugly. The Cap is stamped, "PARKER MADE IN U.S.A. 1/10 12K GOLD FILLED". The cap patterns consist of clusters of 5 lines that start at the cap lip and converge near the top of the cap.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, and hood. Replaced the old sac with a new, properly sized Pli-Glass Sac. Hand-cleaned the Cap & Arrow Clip, Clutch Ring, 14K Parker NIB, and the Aerometric Sac Protector. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and to protect the plastic of the pen. This Parker 51 is a full size that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. The barrel is stamped with, "MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 51 for 1951".

The Parker NIB is 14K and has a medium point that measures .64mm when measuring with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures between .60mm to .64mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

I have tested the Aerometric filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill full in roughly 4 to 5 presses.

This Parker 51 Aerometric in Teal Blue is a fantastic example. It is super clean, restored, and great nib with no dings/dents in the cap. Teal is a little bit harder to find in the Parker 51 color. I would consider this Parker 51 to be in Excellent+ Condition and certainly collector grade. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
