Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1952 Parker Candian Burgundy Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, Gold Filled Chevron Cap Banding (\\\///), and 14K Candian NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted. The Burgundy color is pretty incredible in this celluloid.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the split arrow gold filled clip in excellent condition with a minor gold plate loss at the arrow tip. The chevron cap banding that is in excellent condition with no brassing displayed. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel is mostly clear stamped with, "MADE IN CANADA PARKER VACUMATIC with the date code 52 (for 1952) in the third quarter - the Pat No and Reg TM imprints are very faint". The transparency of the barrel excellent - it is clear with mild ambering. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to the cap or barrel.

The Vacumatic Filling System works very well, typically in my tests with water about 7-8 presses to fill roughly 3/4 full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly.

The Parker Canada NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow NIB with a 1954 date code. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .48mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with an extra fine to double broad stroke line. In the writing sample provided, the extra fine line measures at roughly .37mm and the double broad stroke line measures 1.47mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen displaying a fabulous Burgundy Pearl color. Finding a 3rd Generation Burgundy Pearl Vacumatic is harder and harder to find, I have found only two in 2 years. I would easily grade this Parker in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
