Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Spectacular Circa 1914 Lucky Curve Parker #14 Sterling Overlay Button Filler Fountain Pen. This fountain pen is a spectacular example - these are quite rare. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the LuckyCurve feed and Section. Replaced the old rubber sac with a new, properly sized silicone sac. I have hand polished the sterling overlay and 14K NIB. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of fountain pen.

This fountain pen is made from black hard rubber with Sterling Silver Overlay on the cap and barrel. The model number is #14 but the imprint on the buttend of the barrel is nearly worn away - one can only see the outline of the circle and no number. The hard rubber has deep black color. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs to the hard rubber or sterling overlay. The end of the barrel is stamped with, "PARKER FOUNTAIN PEN 6-30-91 - 1-3-05 and the initials G & B on sides of this imprint". The cartouche on the barrel is free from any monograms or initials and is in perfect condition. The cap is a friction fit type and secures tightly to the barrel. This Parker #14 Fountain Pen measures 5 5/8" in length capped and 7" posted.

This Parker #14 Fountain Pen is a Button Filler type. I have tested the filling system with water and works as it was originally intended to.

This Parker Fountain Pen has the original No. 3 LuckyCurve Nib. The iridium tipping is in good condition with the point measuring .71mm when measured with digital calipers - a medium nib point. The Parkjer nib will range from a Fine to Double Broad line variation. The writing sample provided in the image has the fine stroke that measures .47mm and will flex to a double broad stroke of roughly 1.61mm with medium pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink.

This Parker #14 Fountain Pen is in incredible condition and extremely difficult to acquire. I would consider the condition of this fountain pen to grade in Excellent condition. If you are a collector of these types of early Parker Fountain Pens then I would care to guess you will be very pleased with this one in terms of condition and rarity. Finding one of these early Parker #14 Sterling Overlay Fountain pens are extremely scarce to add to one's writing arsenal collection and a true collector's item.
