Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1934 Parker Junior Streamline Duofold Fountain Pen in Burgundy-Black Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned, and put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition. Parker's original Duofold went "Streamlined" in 1929 (1929-1934) and this burgundy and black color was introduced around 1932.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Replaced the old sac with a new, properly sized rubber sac. Hand polished the Gold-Filled Parker Clip, 2-Ring Cap Banding, and 14K 2-Tone NIB. I cleaned, buffed, and polished the cap, barrel, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen. This Parker Duofold is the Junior Streamlined Size and measures 4 3/4" capped and 5 3/4" posted.

The fountain pen cap, barrel, and blind cap are in magnificent condition with no cracks or repairs. The Cap has a gold-filled Parker Clip with the PARKER imprint stamped and has been polished to shine bright. The cap banding displays a rich gold-filled color. The clip displays minor wear on the high point of the ball or the clip. The cap banding shows some minor wear on the lower ring edging. The barrel is stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER DUOFOLD FOUNTAIN PEN MADE IN U.S.A.". There are no monograms or personalizations on either the cap or barrel. The Burgundy color of this Parker is magnificent here.

This Duofold has a button-filling mechanism that I have restored. I have tested it with water and fills as it should. Works as it was originally designed to.

The Parker Duofold 2-Tone nib is 14K and we do not typically find 2-Tone nibs on Duofolds which makes this Parker more uncommon than most. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the nib has a fine point measuring roughly .55mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to medium stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the line measures from .45mm to .69mm with medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Blue Ink.

This vintage Parker Burgundy and Black Junior Streamline Duofold Fountain Pen is in exceptional condition. The trim is polished brightly and the coloring of the celluloid is vibrant and gorgeous. The Nib on this pen, if you are a Parker collector, is the "cherry on top" making this a more desirable Junior Duofold than most! I would consider this Parker to grade in Excellent Condition. This one is in exceptional condition and ready to add to your writing arsenal collection.
