Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Circa 1910 Parker #1 Black Hard Rubber Eyedropper Straight Cap Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition. This is a very scarce Parker model to find, especially in this condition, which is Excellent.

Hand cleaned the NIB and Lucy Curve feed. Hand cleaned the inside of the barrel, cap, and section with mineral oil. Cleaned the outside of the cap and barrel with mineral oil and the hard rubber displays a deep black color with no oxidation.

This fountain pen is made from black hard rubber. This is an Eyedropper Fountain Pen and that means you would unscrew the section to add the ink via an eyedropper. The barrel has a very good imprint at the center, albeit light in some areas, that reads, "THE GEO. S. PARKER FOUNTAIN PEN JANESVILLE, WIS. U.S.A. PAT. JAN 9, 94, JUNE 22, 98., . JAN. 3, 05, JUN 6, 05". The butt end of the fountain pen has the #1 imprint. The imprint has the "Lucky Curve" banner on the barrel. The straight cap is a slip-type cap always securing tightly to the barrel. There are no monograms to either the cap or barrel. There are no cracks, nicks or repairs to the hard rubber. This Parker #1 measures 5 5/8" in length capped and 6 3/4" posted.

This Parker has the Lucky Curve Nib and feed. The actual tip of the Parker Lucky Curve 14K NIB measures .58mm with digital calipers or a fine point. When writing the sample in the listing images, the NIB writes with a fine line measuring .45mm and will flex to a double broad stroke of 1.42mm with medium to firm pressure when being measured with digital calipers. The writing sample provided was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink. The nib writes extremely smoothly.

This Parker #1 Black Hard Rubber Straight Cap Fountain Pen is a tough model to acquire. This is a scarce fountain pen made in circa 1910 and the condition is Excellent+ Condition. This Parker Fountain Pen will be a treasured writing instrument for the fine Parker Fountain Pen writing arsenal collection!
