Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Beautiful 1940 Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Golden Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in restored condition. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, Double Ring Cap Bands and 14K Parker U.S.A. NIB. Buffed and Polished the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and now it shines. This Parker Vacumatic is a major which measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 5 7/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the split arrow gold filled clip and double ring cap bands that display a brilliant gold filled color with no brassing. The top & bottom jewels are black and look great. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 0 in the third quarter". The transparency of the barrel is fantastic and a person can easily see through the barrel. The blind cap securely fits. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 5 to 7 presses to fill 7/8 full.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold split arrow NIB with a correct date to the pen. The 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .53mm, measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with an extra fine line to a medium line, which is relatively smooth for such a fine point NIB. In the writing sample provided, the thinnest line measures at .40mm and the medium line measured with digital calipers is .85mm. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

Overall, this is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Golden Pearl Celluloid Excellent to Fine Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
