Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Restored 1948 Parker 51 Aerometric Fountain Pen in Forest Green. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, hood, cap and barrel. Replaced the old glass ply sac with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Lustraloy Cap, Split Arrow Clip, Clutch Ring and 14K Parker NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker 51 measures 5 3/8" capped and 6" posted. The cap and barrel are free from any personalizations and/or monograms.

This fountain pen cap, barrel and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Split Arrow Clip and the cap is free from any dings, brassing or major scratching - it looks gorgeous. The top of the cap has a beautifully polished pearlized jewel. The cap is clearly stamped with, "PARKER". The barrel is lightly stamped with, "Made in U.S.A. with date code '8' for 1948 in the 4th Quarter". I have tested the Aerometric filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill nearly full in roughly 7 to 9 presses.

The Parker NIB is 14K and creates a wonderful writing experience. The actual 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .58mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine stroke line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .51mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This Parker Fountain Pen in the Forest Green color is a high cachet color - Forest Green, along perhaps with Cocoa, follow Plum in the tough-to-grab colors in the Parker 51 hierarchy.. This Parker has been restored and is now ready for use or just add it to your writing arsenal collection. I would consider this Parker to be in Excellent Condition.
