Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored Circa 1933-1938 Parker Burgundy Pearl Celluloid Double Jewel Vacumatic Standard Size Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Clip, Gold Filled Three Ring Cap Banding and 14K 2-Tone NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and clarity of fountain pen barrel and cap. This Vacumatic would is considered a 1st Generation Vacumatic, which dated from 1933 to 1937. This Vacumatic packs the "luxury" features which add charm with the two tone nib, striped end jewels and gripping section, and triple cap-band. Burgundy is considered a "better" color.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no cracks or repairs. The barrel has excellent transparency and can easily see through, albeit with mild ambering. The cap has the Feather Gold Filled Clip and triple cap bands that display a wonderful gold filled color with no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the cap and barrel and have been polished to look great again. The barrel faintly stamped, almost non-existent and I can only make out , "PARKER VACUMATIC". The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Standard Size Model that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 8 presses and it will fill full. This Vacumatic has the lock down filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacumatics. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works flawlessly.

The 14K 2-Tone Parker Split Arrow NIB is in beautiful condition with the plating nearly all intact. This NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .78mm, when measured with digital calipers. The NIB is the split arrow 14K Vacumatic that is in excellent cosmetic and smooth writing condition. When writing a sample the NIB writes with an extra fine line and, again, very smoothly. The writing sample provided in the image has a extra fine stroke that measures .49mm and can flex to a double broad stroke of roughly 1.24mm with medium pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue - Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a beautiful vintage 1st Generation Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid and would grade it in Fine to Excellent Condition. If the imprint was crisp and clear, I would say it is collector worthy. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
