Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this amazing Restored 1942 Parker Senior Maxima Vacumatic Single Jewel Fountain Pen in the Azure Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition.

This Parker Vacumatic was the final style for Senior Maxima. It has a full 9/16th cap diameter. Senior Maxima in 1942 was the start of the third generation of Vacumatics which became a single jewel. These 3rd Generation Vacumatic Senior Maximas actually are much more scarce than 1937-1941 double jewel Senior Maximas.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the feed, section, and breather tube. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Split Arrow Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Banding, and 14K Parker NIB. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Senior Maxima size that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Split Arrow Blue Diamond Gold Filled Clip that displays ever so minor wear to the backside of the clip ring. The Chevron Cap Banding displays brightly, again with ever so minor wear just under the cartouche area - very hard to see and can only see it with magnification. The barrel has near water clear barrel transparency with a person easily being able to see through it. The top jewel is black and has been polished to a gorgeous high shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A". The blind cap securely fits.

I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 9 to 12 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and flawlessly. The Speedline filling system is the correct filling unit for these 1942, 3rd Generation generation Parker Senior Maxima Vacumatics, which this Vac is.

This Parker Vacumatic has the 14K which writes extremely smooth. The actual 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .80mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a Fine to Broad stroke. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .55mm (with light pressure), and the broad-stroke measures at 1.02mm with firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was completed by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink.

This is a fantastic vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Azure Pearl Celluloid that is in Excellent+ Condition. This one has clean plastic, water-clear barrel transparency, and a clean manufacturer's imprint. This is a very scarce Parker Vacumatic to find in Single Jewel Senior Maxima size. This fabulous Parker Senior Maxima is ready to write or add to your writing arsenal collection.
