For your consideration, we are honored to present this exceptional Parker 61 Cloud Series Fountain Pen in the Stratus pattern, fitted with a rare 18K Double Broad nib, and preserved in Mint, New Old Stock, never-inked condition. This is a true time capsule example—untouched, uninked, and virtually impossible to improve upon.
The Parker 61 Cloud Series was introduced in 1975 with the Cirrus pattern, followed in 1976 by the Cumulus and Stratus designs. This particular pen represents the Stratus pattern, produced in England in 1976, and stands as one of the most visually striking interpretations within the series. The textured, cloud-inspired finish captures light beautifully, giving the pen a dynamic, almost atmospheric presence that sets it apart from more conventional finishes.
Unlike earlier Parker 61 models that utilized the capillary filling system, this later example is equipped with a cartridge/converter filling system, offering greater ease of use and maintenance while retaining the classic 61 silhouette and performance.
The condition of this pen is nothing short of extraordinary. The cap and barrel are flawless, free from chips, cracks, dents, dings, wear, or repairs. The gold-filled surfaces retain their full brilliance, with crisp pattern definition and a rich, luminous tone. The cap lip is clearly stamped “PARKER Made in England,” and there are no monograms or personalizations. The slip cap engages with precision and authority, exactly as it did when new, with the clutch ring maintaining its original integrity.
This Parker 61 measures approximately 5 1/4 inches capped, 5 5/8 inches posted, and weighs 0.83 ounces, offering a balanced and refined feel in hand.
The pen is fitted with a superb 18K gold Double Broad nib, measuring approximately 1.25mm with digital calipers. Remarkably, both the nib and pen remain completely uninked. Acquired from a collection of over 150 Parker 61s—all reportedly never inked—this example has been carefully verified through inspection and flushing, with no trace of prior use. It stands as a genuine collector-grade piece, preserved exactly as it left the factory. As tempting as it is, this is one pen that deserves to remain untouched.
The included Parker converter has been tested with water and functions perfectly, and the pen also accepts cartridges for convenient use. The original Parker box and literature accompany the pen, completing a truly outstanding presentation.
Examples of the Parker 61 Cloud Series—particularly the Stratus pattern in this condition with a Double Broad nib—are exceedingly scarce. This is a pen that transcends typical collector standards; it is, quite simply, among the finest examples one could hope to find.
A rare opportunity to acquire a pristine, never-inked Parker 61 Stratus—a benchmark piece for the serious Parker collector.
