Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Modern Pelikan M400 Souveran White Tortoise Fountain Pen New in the Box. This fountain pen has never been inked and always contained in the box from a non-smoking home. I consider this pen New Old Stock in original box.

The barrel and cap are gorgeous with White Cap and Blind cap accented by the beautiful Tortoise color barrel with Gold Filled trim. The cap, for whatever season, displays a couple of stress fissures around the cap banding - this must be due to expansion and contraction because the pen has never been inked or used (see image 11). The cap of this fountain pen displays the gold-plated clip and double cap band. The cap is stamped with, "PELIKAN GERMANY SOUVERAN". The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Pelikan M400 was manufactured in Germany before 2003 as it has the two chick cap logo on top of the cap. This Pelikan M400 measures 4 7/8" inches in length capped and 5 7/8" inches posted.

This Pelikan M400 features Gold-Plated trim to the cap and barrel all highly polished. The Piston Filler works with such ease and to perfection in my tests with water. This Pelikan piston filler window has the tortoise color ink window.

The NIB is 14C/585 with a medium point. The tipping measures .74mm when measured using a digital caliper. I have not dip tested this Pelikan but I can feel that the nib is "springy" and very smooth when writing with water.

The Pelikan M400 comes with the original factory boxes and Pelikan Booklet which are in excellent condition.

This lovely Pelikan MM00 is an instant classic. A very sophisticated pen that writes very well while not breaking the bank. It is ready to write with or add to your writing arsenal collection. Again, it is New Old Stock Condition with it never being inked.
