Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked Limited Edition Montblanc Peter the Great Fountain Pen from the 1998 Patron of the Art Series. This particular fountain pen is a Limited Edition 703 of 4810. This pen comes with the original inner and outer boxes along with the Montblanc International Service Certificate / Documentation. This fountain pen has never been inked, is considered New Old Stock, and is in Mint Condition fitted with an 18K (.86mm) Medium nib.

The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, dings, dents, gold plating loss, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. This Montblanc is a limited edition number, "703 of 4810" and is stamped on the cap. The fountain pen measures 5 5/8" capped, 6 1/4" posted, and weighs in at 1.70 ounces

This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system, I have tested it with water and works as it was designed to. It is in working order as one would expect. This pen has never seen ink and is considered in Mint, New Old Stock condition.

The medium nib of this fountain pen is made of 18K gold and features an exquisitely designed engraving with the emblem of the Russian Czars. The nib is stamped with, "4810, 18K/750, 1997, MONTBLANC" and is considered a MEDIUM point,  .81mm, when measuring with digital calipers. The fountain pen has never been inked and to preserve its pristine condition I have not done so.

This Montblanc comes in the original Montblanc wooden lacquered box, outer storage factory boxes, and a Limited Edition International Service Certificate Booklet.

Inspired by the ideals of the Enlightenment, Tsar Peter the Great transformed the Russian Empire, steering it out of cultural isolation and into the heart of Europe’s great nations. He laid the foundation for a cultural renaissance in Russia by supporting writers, artists, and architects. Peter established the first newspaper, founded Russia's first state museum—which included a public library—and created the Russian Academy of Sciences. This cultural hub was built in the city later named St. Petersburg in his honor. The fine gold work of the Patron of Art Edition, commemorating Peter the Great, captures the splendor of the tsar's court: it is adorned with laurel wreaths and features artistic yellow gold accents that beautifully encircle the dark green barrel of Edition 4810.

This Montblanc Patron of the Art Peter the Great Fountain Pen has always been a favorite in the Patron of the Arts series. This one is in impeccable condition, having never been used with ink with a barrel and cap free from any imperfections! I would classify this Montblanc Peter the Great Fountain Pen as being in never-inked, mint condition.
