Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Circa 2012 Danitrio Haru-Ranman Nuri on Takumi Fountain Pen fitted with an 18K Medium Nib. This Danitrio Fountain Pen was never inked until I dipped the fountain pen to create a writing sample. The fountain pen is in Mint condition and has an ultra-smooth writing nib.

This Danitrio is made of ebonite and is the Takumi version (cartridge converter filler) in the Haru-Ranman Nuri design (Red Wiggles on Black Ebonite). Haru Ranman in Japanese means "Spring in Full Bloom". The artist's signature is on the lower end of the barrel and the pen was hand-painted by maki-e artisan Mr. Masanori Omote.

The Danitrio model comes with a gold plate clip with "DANITRIO" stamped. The process of urushi lacquer takes anywhere from 2 to 6 months to complete. The pen is in Mint condition with no nicks, cracks, scratches, or repairs. The design is of urushi red wiggle abstracts on top of a black ebonite. The cap is always securing to the barrel tightly. This Danitrio Haru-Ranman Nuri Fountain Pen measures 5 7/8" capped, 7 1/8" inches posted, has a diameter of 17.88mm around the cap lip area, and weighs 1.21 ounces.

The Danitrio Fountain Pen comes fitted with an 18K Medium Nib. The point measures at .87mm, or a medium point, when measured with digital calipers. When writing with this nib it performs ultra-smooth. The nib will range from a medium (.64mm) line to a double broad (1.50mm) line variation. It is just a fabulous writing nib, I can't emphasize enough how smoothly this nib writes!

The filling system is via an Ink Converter. I tested it with water and works as it was designed to.

This Danitrio Fountain Pen is individually handmade and takes roughly 2 to 6 months to get one of these completed. This particular design is no longer made in current production. I would consider this one in Mint Condition. It is a piece of fine artwork with fabulous detail. It is a spectacular Japanese writing instrument and rare piece to add to one's writing arsenal collection.
