Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Limited Edition Louis Cartier Red Woodgrain Ebonite Fountain Pen which has never been inked and considered in Mint, New Old Stock Condition. This particular pen is number 353 out of 1847. This pen design is known as the "DANDY". This Cartier fountain pen comes with the original boxes and all Cartier literature/service booklets.

The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, scratches, dings, dents, or repairs. The cap is a "screw-on type and is always securing tightly to the barrel. These Cartier fountain pens were made as a Limited Edition and this one is stamped with, "353 of 1847". The cap banding is marked in cursive, "LOUIS CARTIER" and the lower ring, when capped, is stamped with, "353/1847 MADE IN FRANCE PLAQUE OR G". The end of the barrel has a dark blue cabochon stone. The fountain pen measures 5 1/8" capped and 6 3/4" posted. 

This Cartier fountain pen uses an ink converter filling system or will accept cartridges. I have tested the ink converter with water and works as it was designed to.

This pen has a two-tone Rhodium plated 18K/750 nib that is designated a "Medium" point. The nib's iridium point measures .82mm using digital calipers, or a Medium nib point. This fountain pen has never seen ink and wanted to keep it that way for the next curator of the pen. 

This Limited Edition Cartier Dandy Ebonite Fountain Pen is an exemplary example of some of the finest writing instruments ever made in modern times from Cartier. Cartier combined a modern writing instrument with a warm ebonite cap and barrel seen predominantly in the early 1900-1920s. I consider this fountain pen to be in Never Inked, Mint, New Old Stock Condition. This spectacular Limited Edition Cartier fountain pen is fit for the most discerning writing instrument enthusiast that only relishes the finest fountain pens in their writing arsenal collection!
