Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Restored 1940 Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Plated Blue Diamond Split Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap Banding and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a debutante size which measures 4 3/4" in length capped and 5 1/2" posted. The color is gorgeous on this pen - the burgundy pearl just pops

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Blue Diamond Split Arrow Gold Plated Clip and Chevron Cap Bands display no plating loss The top jewel is striped & bottom jewel is black and both have been polished for a wonderful shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped (the date code is faint) with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 0 in the 2nd quarter". The transparency of the barrel is excellent with mild ambering - an individual can easily see through the barrel. The blind cap securely fits. This Vacumatic Filling System works perfectly, typically in my tests with water about 6 to 8 presses to fill full.

The Parker NIB is a 14K split arrow NIB. The iridium is great and creates a smooth writing experience. The 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly 0.53mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a fine to medium stroke line. With the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .52mm and the medium line measured with digital calipers is .62mm with medium pressure. The writing sample was completed with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample provided was completed by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a fantastic vintage example of the Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid. I would grade this fine Parker writing instrument at Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
