For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked Sheaffer Targa Classic Fountain Pen & Ballpoint Pen Set, Model 1021, in the Laque Imperial Red pattern. This fountain pen has never been inked and has been always contained in the original box. The Ballpoint pen is in new, unused condition as well. I consider this pen set to be in New Old Stock, Mint Condition in its original box with Sheaffer documentation, and Never Inked.

This fountain pen set was part of a purchase from a Stationary Store in Georgia where I acquired nearly 25 New Old Stock Fountain and Ballpoint Pens in the Targa design - this is just one of them.

These writing instruments are a Sheaffer Targa Classic Fountain Pen with Ballpoint Pen and are model number 1021 with production beginning in 1982 till 1987. Again, this Sheaffer Targa Classic Fountain Pen is like new as it has never been inked. This Sheaffer Targa displays the Imperial Red Laque finish, with 23-carat gold electroplated trim. Fitted with a 14K solid gold nib. The depth and quality of this finish are a result of being individually hand-lacquered 14 times and polished, also by hand, to a deep, luminous glow. The top of the cap is stamped, "SHEAFFER". The ballpoint pen is crafted in the same way as the fountain pen. This Sheaffer Targa Classic will use either an ink converter or ink cartridges. The Ink Converter is supplied with this fountain pen which works and I have tested it with water.

The cap and barrel have no dents or wear to the finish. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The trim is perfect with no scratches or brassing. This fountain pen and ballpoint pen have a high shine to the finish as they have never been inked and are in Mint, New Old Stock Condition.

This Fountain Pen measures 5 3/8" inches capped and 5 3/4" posted. The diameter of the pen at the widest point is 11.26mm. The ballpoint pen measures 5 1/8" in length. The Sheaffer Targa Fountain Pen & Ballpoint Pen comes with the original box, fountain pen ink converter, Sheaffer Ink cartridges, original foil $165.00 tag, and Sheaffer documentation.

The Sheaffer Inlaid Nib is marked 14K Sheaffer 585 and has a medium point measuring .70mm when measuring with digital calipers. This Sheaffer 14K/585 Medium Nib shows no signs of ever being inked. I did not perform a writing sample only to keep this fountain pen in New Old Stock, Mint, Uninked condition for the new owner.

This Sheaffer Targa Classic Fountain Pen & Ballpoint Pen in this Laque Imperial Red pattern is very desirable, especially in New Old Stock, Never Inked condition. I would consider this Sheaffer Targa Fountain Pen to be in Mint, Never Inked, New Old Stock Condition. A marvelous addition to your Sheaffer Targa writing arsenal collection.
