Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this serviced Circa 1994 Waterman Expert 1 Fountain Pen in solid Blue with gold plate trim. This fountain pen has been cleaned internally, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no dings, dents, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel via a friction fit. The fountain pen displays gorgeous 23K gold electroplated gold-filled trim that displays absolutely no wear. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the barrel or cap. This Waterman Expert Fountain Pen measures 5 5/8" in length capped, 6" posted, and weighs .84 ounces which is very lightweight. The Exclusive model fountain pen made by Waterman was manufactured sometime between the late 1980s to the early 1990s.

The front of the cap banding has a "W" and the back of the cap banding is marked with, "WATERMAN PARIS" and the just above is, "MADE IN FRANCE".  The top of the clip has the "W" and the cap jewel also has the same stylized, "W".

The Waterman comes with a working "Waterman" Branded ink converter. I have tested the ink converter filling mechanism with ink and fills as it should. This pen will also accept International ink cartridges.

The Expert 1 Fountain Pen is easily distinguishable by the unique design of the two-tone steel nib. The beather hole is long and large and the nib has three distinct flat sides (top, left and right sides). The Waterman NIB is designated as a Fine point measuring roughly .58mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with a fine stroke/line ranging from .45mm to .58mm when measured with digital calipers.  The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Blue Ink. The nib on this Waterman writes so smoothly, that it will rival any 14K gold nib out there in terms of smooth writing capabilities.

This is a Waterman Expert 1 that is no longer being manufactured. The nib is a great design feature and unique enough to warrant beginner collector interest. This one is in perfect condition with new ink converter that is ready for your ink.
