For your consideration, we are pleased to offer this Circa 1989 Waterman Le Man 100 Sterling Silver Godron Pattern Fountain Pen, complete with its original factory box, documentation, converter, and accompanying ink cartridges. Crafted in Paris, France during the late 1980s to early 1990s, the Le Man 100 represents one of Waterman’s most elegant and substantial modern fountain pens—combining timeless French design, exceptional materials, and a wonderfully refined writing experience. This fountain pen has not yet been inked and in Mint condition!
The sterling silver cap and barrel feature the iconic Godron pattern, a deeply engraved ribbed design that gives the pen both visual depth and a distinguished architectural presence in hand. The sterling silver surfaces are exceptionally well preserved, free from wear, nicks, cracks, dings, dents, or scratches. The cap is fitted with its original 23K trim and the cap abnding is stamped “WATERMAN MADE IN FRANCE” along with serial number 05087 on the cap band. The cap and barrel remain crisp and clean, with the friction-fit cap securing tightly to the barrel as designed. There are no monograms or personal engravings to either the cap or barrel.
Further confirming its authenticity and quality, the cap, section, and barrel are all properly hallmarked with French sterling silver hallmarks, namely the Minerva head stamp and the WAT S.A. with Arrow in a diamond hallmark.
The pen measures approximately 5 3/4 inches capped, 6 3/4 inches posted, and weighing 1.76 ounces, offering a substantial yet beautifully balanced writing experience. The size and weight give it a commanding presence without sacrificing comfort, making it equally suited for extended writing sessions or executive desk display.
This Waterman fills via cartridge or converter and includes a genuine Waterman converter that functions exactly as intended. Also included are eight Waterman ink cartridges housed within the original presentation box, making this a complete and highly desirable set. I tested the ink converter with water and operates as intended.
Fitted with an 18K/750 solid gold Medium nib, this Le Man 100 will deliver a smooth writing performance for which the model is so highly regarded. The nib tipping measures approximately .71mm using digital calipers. The nib has not been inked and wanted to keep it this way for the new owner.
The original Waterman presentation box is included and remains in excellent condition, along with the original Waterman booklet, warranty card, ink cartridges, inspector card, factory literature, further enhancing the collectibility of this piece.
