I am always very focused on my fountain restoration and I continually forget to take before and after photos to show potential and current clients the labor of love that I have been blessed to do as a business.
I started on this Eversharp Skyline Fountain Pen. The pen wasn't used in probably over 40+ years and time really showed. The gold filled trim was oxidated, the nib and feed needed cleaning, the sac replacing, and the entire pen needed a deep clean, buffing, polish, and wax.
Typically, my restorations can take anywhere from an hour up to 4 hours depending on how finicky the pen can be. I have to be very careful with the celluloid because I can't just run to the nearest store to purchase a part.
This restoration was straightforward but took much time to buff out the deep scratches. The final product really shows, in my humble opinion, a beautiful look after the intense detailing.
I treat every pen the same - as it is the Holy Grail pen. I restore vintage fountain pens to like new condition. In turn, the pieces of art and jewelry have new life breathed into them for many years of enjoyment.
