Description

For your consideration, we are pleased to offer for sale this 1995 Aurora Dante Alighieri Limited Edition Fountain Pen, number 25 of 1919, fitted with an 18K Medium nib. This pen has never been inked and remains in pristine, mint condition. It is accompanied by its original presentation box, a full bottle of Aurora ink, and the corresponding limited edition literature.

This exquisite writing instrument is part of a limited production run of 1,919 pieces. The edition number, 0025, is elegantly engraved on the upper cap band. The cap finial is adorned with a finely engraved portrait of Dante Alighieri, a tribute to his enduring literary legacy.

Crafted from rich, enameled dark green resin and adorned with Vermeil (gold over sterling silver) trim, this pen exudes classic Italian craftsmanship. The lower barrel band bears the "925" sterling silver hallmark, and the cap threads securely onto the barrel. The pen measures approximately 5 1/4" inches capped, 6 1/2" inches posted, and weighs 1.44 ounces.

The nib is marked Aurora 18K/750 and is a medium point, measuring approximately .81mm with digital calipers. To preserve its mint condition, the pen has not been dip-tested or inked. However, the piston filling system was tested with water and functions smoothly, just as intended.

This fountain pen comes complete with the original green-lacquered wooden presentation box, Aurora instruction booklet, warranty card, and a full, unused bottle of Aurora ink — all original to this limited edition release.

About Dante Alighieri

Dante Alighieri, often hailed as “the Supreme Poet”, was born in 1265 in Florence, Italy. A monumental figure in world literature, he was not only a poet and writer but also a political thinker and philosopher. Widely considered the father of the Italian language, his most renowned work, The Divine Comedy, is a cornerstone of medieval literature and one of the greatest literary achievements in history.

Originally titled Comedia and later renamed Divina by Giovanni Boccaccio, The Divine Comedy is divided into three parts: Inferno (Hell), Purgatorio (Purgatory), and Paradiso (Paradise). Inferno, the most well-known of the three, comprises 34 cantos and remains a foundational text in both classical and modern education. The work continues to be studied and revered around the world and is frequently included in “The 100 Best Books Ever Written.”

Dante is often depicted wearing a laurel crown — a traditional symbol of poetic achievement in Latin culture. His influence on language, literature, and thought continues to resonate more than seven centuries later.

This Aurora Dante Alighieri Limited Edition Fountain Pen is a stunning tribute to a literary icon and a masterpiece in its own right — an exceptional addition to any fine writing arsenal that is in pristine condition. This fountain pen originally sold for $1600 in 1995.
