Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautiful Montblanc No 149 MEISTERSTUCK Fountain Pen in Excellent Condition. This fountain pen has been cleaned internally, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition.

This Montblanc has the plastic feed with horizontal combs, has two section barrel construction and black plastic filler mechanism with plastic threads. The cap clip ring banding is stamped, "W. Germany". We can date this pen to circa 1986-1990.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. I have cleaned, buffed, polished, and waxed the cap, barrel, and blind cap is a beautiful shine. The cap has the gorgeous Gold Filled Clip and Cap Banding which, display absolutely no brassing. The cap banding is stamped with, "MONTBLANC MIESTERSTUCK No 149". I have cleaned the inside of the barrel and greased the piston filling mechanism so it now operates smoothly. The transparency of the ink-view window is "Water Clear". There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. This Montblanc 149 Fountain Pen measures 5 3/4" in length capped and 6 5/8" posted.

I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Piston Filling System has been greased and works as it was intended to do and effortlessly.

The Montblanc NIB is a 14K/585 Bi-Color NIB. The 14K Montblanc NIB has a fine point measuring roughly 0.52mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with a fine to medium stroke/line. The writing sample provided in the image provide has the fine line/stroke measuring at .52mm and the medium line/stroke measuring .83mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton cloth that I used to polish/clean the barrel and cap.

This is a wonderful example of this iconic Montblanc No. 149 Fountain Pen. I would grade this writing instrument easily grade in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
