Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this stunning Never Inked, Mint in the Box 2015 Writer's Series Montblanc Leo Tolstoy Fountain Pen Limited Edition 3467 of 9000 fitted with an 18K Medium Nib. This pen comes with the original boxes and Montblanc Limited Edition Documentation. This fountain pen has never been inked and is considered in Mint Condition.

The Montblanc Writers Edition 2015 pays tribute to Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910), the Russian master of realist fiction and author of the epic works War and Peace and Anna Karenina. In addition to penning these and other important novels, Count Leo Tolstoy spent much of his life striving to live a simple life despite his aristocratic roots and meteoric rise to fame.

Yasnaya Polyana, the home where Tolstoy lived with his family, is the inspiration for the Limited Edition Leo Tolstoy. The pillars at the entrance of Yasnaya Polyana are echoed in the shape of the top of the cap, crowned with the Montblanc emblem in black and white resin. Tolstoy’s philosophy of working the land is symbolized in the elaborately handcrafted and hammered silver-plated barrel. The dark grey precious resin cap, blue marbled resin cone, and platinum-plated fittings mirror the colors found in the study where he wrote his most important works. The cap ring is etched with a traditional Russian pattern found on the modest peasant smocks Tolstoy made for himself. The great author’s signature is engraved on the cap; the family's aristocratic coat-of-arms is engraved on the rhodium-plated 18K solid gold nib.

The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The fountain pen measures 5 5/8" capped and 7" posted. This Montblanc is a limited edition and the number of this particular pen is "3467 of 9000" and stamped on the top of the cap as shown in image 7.

This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system and I have tested it with water and works as it was designed to. I have cleaned the inside of the barrel and greased the piston for smooth operation. There were no signs of ink inside the barrel or the nib - this is how I came to the conclusion the fountain pen had never been inked.

This fountain pen features an 18K Medium nib showing the Coat of Arms of Leo Tolstoy. The nib is labeled "2015 4810, 18K/750, Montblanc" and is considered a Medium point, measuring .84mm with digital calipers. To preserve its pristine condition, I refrained from using ink in the pen, to keep it in never-inked condition for the new owner.

This Montblanc comes in the original Montblanc "Book" boxes, service literature, and the International Service Certificate/Reply Card - all in perfect condition!

This Montblanc Patron of the Arts Leo Tolstoy Fountain Pen is a truly stunning and refined writing tool, skillfully created and designed in Germany. It is in impeccable condition, having never been used with ink, and would make a fantastic addition to any writing collection. I would classify this Montblanc Leo Tolstoy Fountain Pen as being in pristine, mint, never-inked, and new old stock condition. A spectacular writing instrument to add to your writing arsenal collection!
