For your consideration, we are offering for sale this 2002 Writers Series Montblanc Francis Scott Fitzgerald Fountain Pen Limited Edition 9339/18500 fitted with an 18K medium nib. This fountain pen has never been used and is in pristine condition, along with its original inner and outer boxes, and International Service Certificate literature. This fountain pen has never been inked, is considered New Old Stock, and is in Mint Condition.

The Roaring Twenties were an era defined by unbridled extravagance and the opulence of Art Deco. It was a time when the jazz age generation reveled in the exuberance of the Charleston and champagne, with F. Scott Fitzgerald as their literary icon. While Fitzgerald immersed himself in the glittering world of high society, his masterworks—The Great Gatsby and This Side of Paradise—offered a poignant psychological portrayal of the era, revealing the quiet tragedy that lay beneath its dazzling surface.

The Montblanc Writers Edition F. Scott Fitzgerald fountain pen evokes the glamour and spirit of this iconic decade. Its lustrous white barrel stands in bold contrast to the deep black precious resin cap, adorned with Fitzgerald’s signature—an homage to the literary legacy he left behind. The rhodium-plated 18-karat gold nib is exquisitely engraved with a 1920s urban skyline, paying dignified tribute to the origins of the Art Deco movement.

Both the cap and barrel are in flawless condition, free from cracks, blemishes, or repairs. The cap secures firmly to the barrel, and the Montblanc Snowcap emblem remains perfectly intact atop the cap. The hallmarked sterling silver trim has been expertly polished, gleaming with refined brilliance. Measuring 5 1/2" when capped and 6" when posted, this fountain pen bears the limited edition number “9339 of 18500” discreetly on the side of the cap.

Equipped with a piston-filling mechanism, the pen has been carefully inspected and tested with water to ensure full functionality. The piston was disassembled, cleaned, and greased, with the barrel also meticulously cleaned. Notably, no traces of ink were found during the disassembly of the piston and nib—indicating the pen has never been inked and remains in pristine, mint condition.

The 18-karat rhodium-plated nib features the Art Deco skyline motif and is inscribed with: “4810, 18K/750, Montblanc Logo, 2002, MONTBLANC.” This nib is designated as Medium, with the tip measuring approximately 0.76mm via digital calipers.

The pen is accompanied by its original presentation box and Montblanc documentation, both in excellent condition.

Crafted in Germany, the Montblanc F. Scott Fitzgerald Writers Edition fountain pen is an exquisite writing instrument—never inked, immaculately preserved, and a remarkable tribute to an era of elegance and literary brilliance. Its streamlined, torpedo-shaped design evokes the modernity of its time and makes a distinguished statement. A splendid addition to any Montblanc Writers Series collection, it is a timeless piece worthy of both admiration and preservation.
