For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked Boxed 2015 Johann Strauss Special Edition Donation Fountain Pen fitted with a 14K gold Medium nib. This pen has the original box, a winding music box, and Montblanc Donation Pen Johann Strauss literature/service booklet. The fountain pen has never been inked and is in New Old Stock, Mint Condition.

The Donation Pen honors Johann Strauss, the Austrian composer renowned for his Viennese waltzes and operettas, affectionately known as the "king of the waltz. " The design of this writing instrument draws inspiration from the very first Donation Pen created in tribute to Leonard Bernstein. Its clasp evokes the image of a violin bow, referencing Strauss's favorite instrument. Strauss' signature and the Montblanc name are elegantly engraved on the cap ring. The special gift box also includes a music box that plays an excerpt from his most famous waltz, "The Beautiful Blue Danube." The nib features an engraving of a bat, a nod to his celebrated operetta, “La Chauve-souris." The cap and body, crafted from black precious resin, are adorned with elements gilded in champagne-colored gold.

The cap and barrel of the fountain pen are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The fountain pen's champaign gold-plated cap ring is detailed with an engraving of his name, "Johann Strauss on the front of the cap banding and MONTBLANC on the backside of the cap banding." The clip is fashioned in the shape of a violin bow symbol. The clip's cap banding on the backside is engraved with the serial number "MBNF5WBHP". The fountain pen measures 5 3/4" capped and 6 3/8" posted. 

This Montblanc fountain pen features a piston-filling system. I have tested it with water, and it functions as intended. There was never any ink inside the pen, and when flushed with water, it consistently came out clean with no ink residue.

The 18-karat nib is engraved with a "Bat," which is a nod to his celebrated operetta, La Chauve-souriss, and is marked "4810, 14K, 585, MONTBLANC". This nib is a Medium, and the iridium point measures .84mm when using digital calipers. I have never inked this fountain pen nib to keep it in uninked, unused condition for the next collector. But you know it will write with a smooth, juicy, wet line!

The original Montblanc box/packaging contains a music box that plays an excerpt from his most famous waltz, "The Beautiful Blue Danube. " The box is complete and in excellent condition.
