Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Rare, pure silver Japanese Bonbonniere with a kamon of a 14-petal chrysanthemum center made from at least 14K Yellow Gold. We carefully tested the Gold Kamon and does test for at least 14K purity. Stamped with Japanese characters to to the underside, which two 纯银 = Pure Silver and the other two for 三越 = Mitsukoshi.  Box measures 5'' x 3 3/4'' x 2 1/4'',  weighs 739.6 grams. This particular Kamon (crest) with 14 petals was typically used by members of the Japanese Royal Family. This crest comes from the Princely House of Chichibu.

Prince Chichibu was born in 1902 and was the second son of Emperor Taisho. Prince Chichibu was widely renowned among people of Japan as the Sporting Price due to his efforts to promote skiing, rugby and other sports. He passed away on January 4, 1953.

Condition Report:

In overall excellent condition with very little light scratching to commensurate with age and use. This piece is beautiful that can be used as an heirloom piece to be passed down for generations.
