Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored Circa 1943 Eversharp Skyline Fountain Pen in Emerald Green Moire Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and now is in superb writing condition.

I have replaced the old rubber sac with a new, properly sized sac. I have hand-polished the Gold-Filled Eversharp Clip, Gold-Filled Lever Bar, and 14K NIB. I cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen. The cap and barrel display a green-black striped longitudinal celluloid pattern known as Moire. This Eversharp Skyline is a Demi size that measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 5 3/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has a secure derby with gold gold-filled "EVERSHARP" clip which displays no wear. The lever displays no wear. All gold-filled trim has been biffing and polished to shine brightly again. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

The Eversharp Skyline Filling System is a lever filler that works great. I have tested it with water and fills like it was originally intended to when manufactured.

The Eversharp NIB is a semi-flexible 14K smooth writing nib. The actual iridium tip/writing portion of the 14K Eversharp NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .58mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to double broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .56mm with very light pressure, and the double broad stroke measures 1.19mm with medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

This is an Eversharp Skyline Fountain Pen that displays an Ultra-Cool Art Deco design by Henry Dreyfuss that was produced from 1941 to 1948. I grade this Eversharp to easily be in  Excellent condition. The Skyline model is a great example from the end of the Art Deco period. This one is ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
