Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1936 Waterman Ink Vue Fountain Pen in the Emerald Ray Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together and is now in wonderful writing condition. The color on this pen is phenomenal, the gold-filled trim is super clean, and the barrel transparency is water clear!

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. I have hand cleaned the inside of the barrel and cap. Replaced the old rubber diaphragm with a new one and installed a new rubber gasket. The threads on the cap and barrel are excellent with the cap always securing tightly. There are no monograms or personalizations. There are no cracks, nicks, or repairs to the celluloid. This Waterman Ink Vue Fountain Pen measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 3/4" posted. The lever and box assembly has been cleaned and oiled. It works flawlessly and smoothly. The coloring on this Ink Vue is known as "Emerald Ray" and is gorgeous with very clean coloring, one of the best I have seen. The barrel has very crisp imprints at the center of the barrel that reads, "WATERMAN'S REG U.S. IDEAL GLOBE PAT. OFF. MADE IN THE U.S.A. FOUNTAIN PEN". The barrel transparency on this Waterman is water-clear and in perfect condition! 

Like Parker Vacumatics, Waterman's Ink-Vues use a latex sac not to hold the ink, but to create a vacuum suction to suck it directly into the barrel, the transparency of which makes the ink level fully visible. Just unlock the innovative "Double Action" lever, and depress it upward against the barrel 7-10 times until the pen is full. I have restored the filling system and works as it was designed to.

The Waterman Nib is a Red Keyhole 14K flexible type. When measuring the actual tip of the 14K Ideal NIB, it measures at a medium point of .77mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing the sample in the listing images, the NIB writes with a medium line measuring roughly .61mm with very light pressure and flexes up to a triple broad 1.96mm with medium to firm pressure when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample provided was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink. The nib wets with a flexible, smooth, wet line.

This is a beautiful Waterman's Emerald Ray Ink Vue Fountain Pen is in a condition that is rarely seen. This Waterman Fountain Pen has been well preserved with perfect color, clean gold filled trim, crisp imprints, and is in collector-grade condition! I would grade this Waterman Ink Vue in near-mint condition. A superb writing instrument to add to your writing arsenal collection!
